For our new project partner, Fintiba GmbH, we are looking for Python developers who are eager to develop innovative and cool features for international students. Fintiba GmbH is one of the most successful fintechs in Germany and market leader in the field of online-based solutions for international students in Germany. They currently work with 56 employees with innovative technology at the interface between banking, e-commerce, students, universities and politics.

We are looking for a Lead Senior Backend Developer to join our team and help us build and maintain a bank product that offers innovative solutions for international students.

You will be working with a small and agile team of six people, using cutting-edge technologies such as Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. You will also be involved in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs that comply with PSD2 standards.

Your tasks (What is waiting for you)

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation of the backend features and components of our bank product.
- Collaborating with other developers, product owners, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs and business requirements.
- Mentoring and coaching junior developers and ensuring code quality and best practices.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments.
- Researching and evaluating new technologies and tools and sharing your knowledge with the team.

Your profile (What you bring with you)

To be successful in this role, you should have:
- At least 5 years of experience in developing web applications using Python (FastAPI, tortoise, pydantic, poetry) and JavaScript (react and friends).
- Expertise in using Git for version control.
- Experience in working with PostgreSQL databases and AWS services (S3, Lambda, RDS).
- Experience in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs that comply with PSD2 standards.
- Experience in working in an agile/scrum environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude.
It would be nice if you also have:
- Experience in working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous experience in leading or managing a development team.
- Previous experience in the banking or payments rails domains.
